Uses zero-knowledge proofs to protect privacy cryptographic technique, that allows two users to transact without ever revealing their true identity or address. The Zcash blockchain uses two types of addresses and transactions, Z transactions and addresses are private and T transactions and addresses are transparent like Bitcoin.

Clean up remaining alert system remnants. Remove leftover references to the P2P alert system that were missed in the initial removal: the man page `-alerts` entry, the dead "alert" debug category, the `"alert"` unknown-command exclusion in `main.cpp`, the `CUnsignedAlert`/`CAlert`/`msg_alert` classes in the test framework, the unused `CNode::setKnown` field, and a stale `#include` in `warnings.cpp`. Removed the P2P network alert system. `zcashd` will no longer respond to alert messages from the P2P network. The `-alerts` config option has been removed and will be ignored. This ensures that, if any other party were to maintain a zcashd fork, ECC will not hold any keys that could affect nodes running such a fork. This leaves intact alerting for end-of-service and detected chain forks, and the `-alertnotify` functionality. Signed-off-by: Daira-Emma Hopwood <daira@jacaranda.org>

More Cryptocurrencies

  • One of the most private cryptocurrencies, since no meta data is available (not even the transaction amount). It uses complex on-chain cryptographic methods such as Ring signatures, RingCT, Kovri, and Stealth addresses all of which help protect the privacy of users.
